Script
Characters: Darius, Emma, Marcus, mate

First shot of Darius and his mate sat at a bench smoking. Darius looks at his phone at a text sent by Marcus it reads 'meet me at the train station car park at 6.'

DARIUS: This is fucked up man, she wanted the stuff...she was just getting on my nerves, she pushed me to the limit. I didn't mean to hurt her...

MATE: Yeah, I know bruv. The girl is a nutcase.

DARIUS: I was mashed too - just lost control...

(Flashback) Darius and Emma

EMMA: Please just give me some more, I'll pay you back the money I owe you.

DARIUS: Na, you've had enough. Go home Emma.

EMMA: Don't be a prick Darius. I need it, please.

She moves closer towards him, invading his personal space. He takes a step back, looking at her in disgust.

EMMA: Please.

DARIUS: Emma, just fuck off. I'm not going to give you any more so you might as well give up. Don't make me force you to stop.

EMMA: You're such a prick!

She pushes him in anger. Darius' expression is angry, she pushes him again.

EMMA: Just give me the fucking stuff!

She pushes him again but this time he pushes her back in retaliation, but she falls down. She screams.
(Cuts back to the present)

DARIUS: (sighs) we should go now bruv.

Boys get up from bench and walk away. Shot cuts to Marcus and Emma walking out the train station.

MARCUS: He better show up.

EMMA: We don't have to do this Marcus, it's over - it doesn't matter.

MARCUS: yeah it does. That piece of scum can't get away with hurting you like that.

He walks towards the car park and Emma follows.
A few shots of the two groups making their way to the car park. Marcus gets there first - looking around the empty car park.

MARCUS: Knew he wouldn't show his face.

EMMA: We're early, it's only five to.

Darius and mate walk down the stairs to the car park from the street. Marcus' back is to him, Darius stops at a good distance between them, his mate standing beside him. Close up of Darius' angry expression. Emma makes a gesture to Marcus and he turns around to see him. He laughs.

DARIUS: You what blud?!

MARCUS: You know what Darius. You're gonna pay for what you did to Emma.

DARIUS: You know jack shit Marcus. You weren't there, you don't know exactly what happened. Isn't that right Emma?

Emma blushes and turns away.

MARCUS: I don't give a fuck mate. You hurt her, who do you think you are treating a girl like that?

Marcus draws his weapon, smirking at Darius, who doesn't flinch.

DARIUS: You think you're a badman now? Well you're not.

Darius too draws his weapon. He smiles back at Marcus who wasn't expecting this.

MARCUS: We'll see who's a badman in the end, won't we?

Shot of the two of them looking at one another. Close up shot of one of the guns. Blackout. Sound of gun shot.

Train Station for the meeting and fight between Darius and Marcus

A Bench for Darius and his friends to sit on. This is where they get the text.

Costume Ideas

Here are the ideas for the costumes we are using.

(left)
This is the costume design for the aggressors in the scene. It consists of a hoodie, track suit bottoms and trainers. We decided to use this costume for the aggressors as it is a stereotypical antisocial teenage outfit. The characters wearing these outfits shall wear their hoods up to look more threatening.

(right)
This costume is for the protagonist and his group. It consists of an open hooded jacket, T-shirt, jeans and patterned skateboarding pumps or worn out trainers. This outfit represents an opposite group to the aggressors. they wear their hoods down to show that they have nothing to hide.

This is the costume for the female character. She wears a similar outfit to the protagonists group which represents her loyalty to that clique. He outfit consists of an open hooded jacket, T-shirt, jeans and feminine trainers. Her make up will be casual everyday style with eyeliner and mascara but no elaborate eyeshadow. Her hair is pulled up into a basic ponytail but with a side parting to make it a little more interesting.

Group Roles

These are the roles that we will be taking in order to make our film extract.

Our Influences

The theme of urban gang culture and elements of British Realism film are inspired by Kidulthood (2006, Menhaj Huda). We have also included the theme of drugs in our film sequence much like Kidulthood.

We have decided to use flashbacks much like in order to introduce a character that is no longer there 28 Days Later (2002, Danny Boyle). We will use this technique to introduce "Emma", the girl who gets injured.

We also decided that we could use a similar rotating dolly camera movement to the one in the opening of Reservoir Dogs (1992, Quentin Tarantino) in order to established a close knit group of people with a threatening atmosphere.

The music in our film sequence will be inspired by British Dubstep, Grime and Drum and Bass because of its popularity in urban British youth culture.

Our Ideas so far

We plan to create a scene that is leading up to the climax of our film. We will stop the sequence just before the climax.
Our scene will be about two gangs brought to conflict over who has the blame for injuring a girl.
The genre will be a crime/gangster/thriller hybrid.
